Bugeye WRX

There’s something about the old bugeye wrx that I just love. Now, this one’s even cooler. Alex bought this WRX a few days ago with tons of work done to the engine & suspension. Now all he needed was audio & video to match. We took out the dreary factory CD player and replaced it with the AVH-P2300DVD in dash DVD/USB/iPod receiver from Pioneer. I love the interface on this unit ad it looks perfectly at home in the dash of this Subaru with its ability to change color to match the lighting scheme of the interior. Soon he’ll be getting speaker & subwoofer upgrades to finish off his great looking & sounding system.

You don’t need a high end vehicle for high-end service

Most of my install galleries feature large, custom installs in expensive vehicles. In the Salt Lake valley, there’s really nobody better than CSD Audio. But great service doesn’t need to break the bank. Whether you drive a Ford or a Ferrari, you can expect friendly, professional, honest service… regardless of the size of your installation.

This super clean ’97 Ford F250 is a great example. Alecs wanted better sound on a budget, so we added a Pioneer DEH-4300UB with USB Ipod Control, Pioneer D series speakers in the front, and G series in the back. It’s a quick, but substantial upgrade to the factory audio system… all for under $400.

Arthur’s Infiniti G35 Coupe

An incredible sounding vehicle that still has enough room in the trunk for Arthur’s golf clubs. 2 Amps, 2 Batteries, 2 10″ Subs, 4 6″ midbass drivers and a set of components up front give this car incredible detail and impact! We ordered a special dash bezel from japan to accommodate the aftermarket stereo and retain the stock navigation system. This kit now houses a double DIN DVD screen… two times the video & two times the fun!

John’s Audi R8

The goal of this project was to add some extra functionality and safety to this R8, keeping the wires and components totally out of sight. After the project was completed, there was really nothing inside to look at. Mission accomplished.
On the outside, though, there’s a whole lot of beauty to behold.
Special thanks to Jordan Wadsworth for the photos!

Patrick’s legacy GT filled with Morel Speakers & Genesis Amps

Morel Elate Speakers & Genesis Series III Amplifiers in Patrick’s ’08 Subaru Legacy GT
This system was designed to provide an amazing listening experience while maintaining the cosmetics of the Subaru interior. 3 Genesis amplifiers, an Audison BitOne processor and Stinger 2 Farad capacitor are all hidden in a compartment under the floor, keeping them out of cargo areas as well as out of sight from would be thieves. We kept the factory radio in the dash to preserve the factory cosmetics and mounted the dash controller for the BitOne in a pocket above the clock. Custom fiberglass enclosures holding Morel Ultimo SC 12″ subwoofers were molded into the rear quarter panels to add great low end to the system while maintaining the cargo space for a couple sets of golf clubs. Thorough treatment of the vehicle with sound deadening material, careful placement of speakers, active crossovers, 1/3 octave EQs for each channel and digital time alignment of each individual speaker all combine to create incredibly realistic sound, natural vocals, smooth highs, and tight punchy bass.

We rounded off the install with a Viper Responder LE 2-way remote start and security system with Smart Start. This customer can arm, disarm and start his vehicle from anywhere in the world!

Italian Beauties

Raise your hand if you hate speeding tickets! I do too. Ferraris are all about performance and speed. Radar and Laser guns aren’t. To help win this war I installed discreet radar detection systems on several Ferraris with laser shifting technology. At a glance, the cars look totally stock, but these babies are equipped with the tools to fight the man.(Always drive responsibly.)

JR’s Porsche Carrera

JR’s Posche Carrera 4
We’re just gettin started with this one here, folks. First off, we added an AVH-P3300BT in dash multimedia receiver to update the technologoy in this porsche. The 3300BT adds DVD, iPod video, USB, SD playback as well as syncs with your smartphone via Bluetooth. In-Car connectivity at its finest. It even has an ‘ap mode’ feature to allow you access to many of your iPod/iPhone applications through the CD-IU50v cable. To get this new unit to fit, the dash had to be modified, climate controls relocated and custom trim bezel was fabricated to make this new unit look like it came that way from the factory. Up next, JR plans to add a 13″ woofer behind the back seat to provide this sporty coupe the low bass that the factory Bose system just can’t provide. Stay tuned!

**Update 09/08/2011**
We added the subwoofer today and totally transformed the Bose system into something quite impressive. While we could have gone with a fiberglass molded enclosure, budget was a concern so I designed a simpler version built entirely of MDF and finished with black carpet and factory matched tan vinyl. Very simple, very clean, and great sound.

You don’t have to join the dark side to magically start your car..

Every year the Super Bowl usually sets a new record for number of viewers. This year raked in a pretty amazing 111 million viewers, but not everybody tunes in to catch the game — the commercials that debut have a history of being almost as entertaining as the game itself.

The commercial took the top spot this year was Volkswagen’s “The Force” commercial, featuring a kid dressed as Darth Vader attempting to use the Force to move and control objects with his mind, and in the end “succeeding” by starting his father’s new Passat. Dear ol’ dad simply used his remote start car starter from the kitchen window, but the kid’s reaction to succeeding is priceless (although his many failures in the beginning are pretty amusing too).

Yoda uses a Directed SmartStart

Shortly after the spot aired, a spoof of the commercial was released on the interwebs that featured Yoda harnessing the power of the Force (and a Direct Electronics SmartStart) to start a Camaro. Darth’s dad may be able to start the car from his kitchen window, but thanks to his smart phone-powered SmartStart, Yoda can start his car from just about anywhere in the world.
